Can the parent(a non-US-citizen) of a US citizen(with passport and SSN) who is a minor, get any visa other than a tourist visa? Would the parent be eligible for a green card based on childs citizenship?

Generally no.. otherwise every pregnant women would be arriving in the US when 7 months pregnant with the intention of having the child born here and then staying.

In this particular instance the child is two years old, born abroad, but has all the paperwork in order and the mother wants to come over and work temporarily. Do you have any advice as to how she might be able to work it out?
