Seeking legal advice on California Non Compete. I'm in consulting and signed a non-compete with company in Michigan. I plan to leave voluntarily due to lack of growth. I live in California. Get paid to my home in California. Michigan company is threating to sue if i work for a customer in California that is their customer. The customer does not want to lose me and want to contract for a couple of months to finish up the project. I offered to continue to work at the employer for couple of months but they refused. Customer is upset that my employer is blocking this and want to contract directly. Customer does not have non-compete with my employer so my employer is threating to sue me. Do they have a case? My non-compete is standard. can not work for competitor or customer for 1 year.
Thanks for your advice in advance.
