I run a not for profit girls youth softball team . We have team fee's and take donations .
We recently had a player quit the team after about 2 months and they want their donation back . I told them I would return the team fee but was not able to return the donation . They have sent several e-mails demanding a refund . their donation was made by a third party . What recourse do I have ?

The actual question is, what recourse do they have? None. A gift or donation requires intent and delivery to be completed. (Actually, in a charity, even less.) The deal is done. Be nice, be fair and be firm and say "sorry but there's nothing I can do".

Are you being asked to return the donation to the person or entity who made it? Or to give it to someone else?
