Not getting paychecks

My boyfriend has not recieved his last two paychecks from his current employer. He was out of the office on the Friday they were to be handed out. When he came in on the following Monday, they told him the check had been sent to the main office and to pick it up there. When he went, they said they did not have his paycheck either. It has been a week since then and they have still not given him his check as well as the check that he was owed this past Friday. Basically, he has not been paid for the last 2 1/2 weeks he has worked. He tried to talk to his boss about this and his boss just said that he was getting to angry and they would have to talk about at a later time. Bills and rent are due and we have no money to pay them! Is there anything he can do about this?

So when he talked to the boss, DID your boyfriend get too angry? He's understandably upset but keeping his cool in attempting to get the company to resolve this is important - he needs their cooperation.

I suggest your BF contact the boss again, apologize if he was out of line, and calmly ask the boss to please help locate his paychecks because he is in urgent need of them. This is without question the quickest way for your BF to get his paychecks.

If the company fails/refuses to make them available, he can file a complaint with his State's Department of Labor but that's not a quick solution.
