In my prior post, I really wanted to know if they are legitimate in claim not about the SOL. I thought insurance canceled itself for nonpayment. In light of the fact, that they ceased to exist as insurance for us, we had new insurance in place of theirs and that they never sent a bill claiming that I owed them money. Is there claim even legitimate? The rep is saying that even though it expired at end of payments they had the right to reinstate it for another period (3 months) and that they then allowed that to cancel for non payment. This is the 750.00 that they claim I owe them now. This is why she is telling me I should just pay them and then go back and sue my agent to recoup the money I pay them.... It just doesn't make sense to me. So, does any one know if an insurance company can make claim against you for a policy that they continued on their own accord? A policy they chose to carry without any payment?
Thanks

PS... sorry for double posting before... I was confused on which forum to post.
