Not sure if I should send copy of my BK.

Accident - Bankruptcy - Criminal Law / DUI - Business - Consumer - Employment - Family - Immigration - Real Estate - Tax - Traffic - Wills   Please click a topic or scroll down for more.

What is the name of your state? Indiana

A credit reporting agency has requested a copy of my BK papers in order to correct some information that I have disputed.

First, will they actually accept a document from me to correct accounts?

Second are there any problems with giving them a copy ? I am concerned about divulging too much information about myself.

I'm not trying to dispute the BK, to the contrary I am trying to probe the items in qeustion are in BK.

thanks
Julie

The FCRA requires them to accept evidence from conumers.
Can't answer your 2nd question. A bk is a public record. If they really want to find out anything bout you and it's listed on the bk matrix then all they need do is access the records.

If TU already has access to my BK, why are they asking me for a record of it?

Do they see all the accts that were filed in the BK?

thanks

They likely just see the fact that you filed. I just meant if they really wanted to see all of the gory details they {or anyone} could go to the trouble of getting your file.
If you are just trying to dispute a tl listing and, it's on the matrix, then the easy thing to do is just send what they ask. Of course, the bk will then be cemented to your report and what slim chance you may have of disputing it off will be gone.
