What is the name of your state? washington

Im not sure if this goes here but Im desperate to figure this out. Im in the military doing active duty and of course I can go see JAG but their lines are so long so here I am. I recently purchased a 02 acura rsx with the understanding from the salesman that it has a rebuilt title due to theft of the airbags only. He suggested that I drive the vehicle but not on the freeway as it is quite far away so I complied. There were a few problems but I saw past it to get the car I wanted.

This is my first time purchasing a vehicle from a dealership and the first time I ever needed financing so I just followed their lead. The car was 12000 dollars after taxes and fees about 14000 and I put 4000 down on the car. The salesman told me to sign here and here for this and that so I did as the time was getting late and it was after hours already. I found out about 2 months later that the car has a destroyed title due to being in an accident that totalled the car, there was flood and fire and hail damage prior and to make matters worst I signed a contract to pay 30% interest on my financing. Again I should of read over the details more clearly but it was my first time and I thought dealerships could be more trust worthy. Also there are TONS of little things wrong with the vehicle and even some major safety issues such as the horn doesnt work, windshield washers dont work and Im pretty sure the car isnt even street legal at this point.

my question is even though I signed an "as is" contract, can I return or do something to get my money back as the car doesnt even have a road legal title?

You agreed in writing that the car was dumpy.

And this is exactly why I advise all my troops in their initial counseling that they are NOT to go out and purchase an automobile from a dealership without my consent first.

You were taken by the "Ride Today" scammers. You are paying the state's maximum interest rates. They prey on troops with catch phrases... "Ride Today!" "Everyone is approved, E-1 and up!" "Need a ride? We'll pay for the cab fare!"

But you got to "ride today!" They lived up to their end of the bargain.

If you know someone with a tow-truck, have them tow it to just outside of the dealership and leave it all hooked up to the tow-truck and stand there with a sign and fliers informing every person that you feel these people mislead you. Make sure nothing you say or write is false so you can't be held responsible for slander or libel.

It may not take the dealership very long to offer you a new deal especially if people heading into the place feel that these guys screwed over a serviceman.

I think that mr.v gave crappy advice.

I do wonder how an 'as-is' clause would affect a vehicle sold with a salvage title. [if that is the case]

One of the only things that is assured in a retail sale is that the 'good & merchantible title' is not what one gets with a salvage title.

Without "good title would no the UCC regulations then rule the sale?

The rules in the Buyers jurisdiction may have something else to say on the matter.

i talked to the owner and he said the sales man that sold me the vehicle got fired for some reason. He told me that he would fix anything wrong with it that I didnt know about and try to get a title for the vehicle. I'd like to return the car but I guess this is as good of a deal as I can get. I couldnt even get an appointment with JAG since theyre so busy. Thanks for the advice
