I received a letter from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission stating that this office is in receipt of a Notice of Seizure from the Superior Court of Warren County. Advising that my vehicle, a 1990 Toyota with 320,000 miles on it has been levied by virtue of a writ of execution from a collection agency. This was due to a credit card bill I can't possibly pay. (I did get served with the Writ in January and I filed for an exemption for my car. This was the first I heard, I received no ruling from the court on my request for the exemption.) The letter said to send the title in to the Motor Vehicle Commision. I need the car to get to work. I have two minor children to support ages 10 and 13 and will get fired if I can't get to work. Is there anything I can do? I still have the car.
