I'm from mn. our court order says Petitioner shall ensure that the boys have adequate, clean and well fitting clothing for respondent's parenting time. Respondent shall return the boy's in adequate, clean and well-fitting clothing at the end of his parenting time.

when i send the boy's cloths i make sure they are clean and folded and tha boys are in clean clothing. but when the boys return they are dirty and all their clothing is dirty.
Is he in contempt of court for doing this? He said he doesn't have to wash their cloths. who's right?

My response:

Your order is ambiguous, vague, and unintelligible; i.e., it's unenforceable. I understand what you are saying from a non-legal point of view; however, when speaking of an order, we are talking about "law". As such, and if you think about it from a lawyer's perspective, what do those words mean ?

"Clean", "well-fitted clothing", etc., are in the eye of the beholder and cannot be defined to a legal certainty. What does "clean" mean from a legal standpoint ? What does "well-fitted" clothing mean from a legal standpoint ?

What may be unreasonable, dirty and unkempt to you, may be reasonable, clean and kempt to someone else. How do you enforce a "subjective opinion" ?

I realize you have given the order your own definition, and it's probably a good definition. But, obviously, your ex-husband has given the order his own definition, and it differs from your opinion. But, both of your definitions may be "reasonable" and not violating the court order. From a legal perspective, are you wrong, or is your ex wrong, or are you both correct ?

Another way of looking at this situation is the same as two people looking at the "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo DaVinci. Is she smiling or not ? You say yes, and he says no.
