What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hello all!

I have a strange question. I play an online game and they have what's called an Item Shop where you spend real US dollars for various items that you then use in game. One of the items you can buy randomly generates an item and the "quality" of this item is determined by some formula that only the company knows.

My question is, do we (the players) have the right to know what this formula is? Isn't it true that casinos, etc. are required to inform consumers of the probabilities of their games of chance? If so, do online gaming companies have the same rules?

Note that this company does not allow you to convert in game currency back into US dollars so the money flow is one-way.

Thanks!
