What is the name of your state? Wa

Is there any way around the open enrollment period restriction? We have a child that we would like to put on our insurance plan.

We missed the initial 30 day window we had to put him on the plan. Partly our fault partly the HR reps. She told us we needed a document that was not actually necessary. And that once we showed her that the rest of the enrollment process was already done.

She was wrong. We got the document. Took it in and were told we'd missed the window and didn't need the document in the first place.

The rest of our family is covered under this plan (through my husbands job) and it is good coverage. This child will be covered also when November rolls around. Is there any way to get our child covered sooner?

You might want to look into state coverage for the child for the rest of the year; CHIP programs have been expanded in many states so that ALL families are eligible regardless of income (just charged on a sliding scale).

I wasn't aware of that. Thank you. That might help a lot. Thanks again.
