What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? nevermind.... never-neverland, if you must know...
So.... I've been sitting here reading a lot of threads, posting what knowledge I've gleaned by my own journey, always eager for another chance to learn. The things I've learned in my time here:
1) most people have no idea what direction they are going, or the lessons they should have learned along the way.
2) most people, HATE their EX... for innumerable reasons... this reflects on their children, whether they realize it or not.
3) Everyone thinks their story is unique, that they have (as have their children) suffered more than anyhone else.
4) NO ONE or nearly no one, is willing to accept the consequences of their own actions
5) no one realizes how strong they are... one lesson I've learned is that "I AM the sum of my experiences, I couldn't be the person I am today, WITHOUT those trials and tribulations". As cliche as it sounds, "What does not destroy me, only makes me stronger".
6) Who I am friends with, who I associate with reflects upon me... no matter how sucky it seems, it's true!
7) no matter the forum, utilizing the lessons taught in high school DOES matter, if you cannot articulate yourself on an internet forum, no one will take you seriously if you attempt to speak so inarticulately in public.
Take the above with a grain of salt... its what I've observed over my 3 or so decades, and continue to learn in the future.
One of the most strong women in history once said:
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
"Friendship with oneself is all important because without it one cannot be friends with anybody else in the world. "
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along."
"I could not, at any age, be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on."
"Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both."
"Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life. "
"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot. "
"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built. "
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't."
"I have spent many years of my life in opposition, and I rather like the role. "
God be with each and every one of you, we all could use a little extra help and a little helping hand up... but we are obligated to ourselves to help ourselves, first.
End, hijack.
