What is the name of your state? CA
My fiance has to pay child support and he is barely able to pay his bills now. We are now expecting a child and the judge told him that they would lower his child support payments when our child is born. How much do you figure that it will be dropped? How do they calculate that in as factor?

All right, the obvious question here is, "Why would you have another child if you can't pay your bills now?"

And I doubt HIGHLY that the judge will lower current support. You should have thought of the financial strain before making baby numero dos.

Try to make plans on finace's current available funds. Because that is all you'll likely have.

And Silver - hahahahahahahahahahah

So if he is paying $650 a month they will only lower it by $13????

Yeah... 'cause here's the thing... His other brat? Likely eats real food. Which someone has to pay for. Your darling angel? Can still suck off the teat attached to you. So costs nothing to feed. Maybe if you bottle feed it and wean to solids early, you can get like.... $30 more off his CS a month.

God almighty - don't have kids if you can't afford them, woman!

*sigh*

Good grief woman.

NO the support for the FIRST child will not be lowered because you and your bedwarmer could not keep your pants on.

How nice that NOW us fine citizens of CA will have ANOTHER mouth to support because people are procreating who can't afford the children they already do have let alone another one.

:(

The good news is that YOUR income can go toward supporting your new child, and that income will not count toward the CS he pays.

WELL PUT!

And if OP comes back, I'm sure we'll hear about how fiance's ex was cheating or abusing the kid, and this reduction is justified, and was never fair in the first place.

Ummm first of all I was pregnant before his child support was even in order. And I can support my child I was just wonder what the drop in his child support was going to be. And I do have a job a very good paying job, so before you want to cast stones maybe you should know what I'm about before you pass judgement. This is suppose to provide legal advise not your opinion of who is asking the question. I think all of your comments were very rude and your assuptions were way off. So if you didn't have any legal advise to provide then maybe you should go back to watching Jerry Springer because your rediculous opinions are not needed, thats why this is called a LEGAL FORUM, not a chat room.

That argument will get you nowhere unless the child you are still carrying was born before his other child. And I don't see how that could be possible. (Perhaps because I don't watch Jerry Springer.)

Then why, in your first post, were you busily pointing out that your bf can barely pay his bills and needs a reduction in CS?
