What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington

Greetings, thank you for taking your time to respond. I recently relocated to Washington and have begun my job search. I have a felony conviction in California for possession of an assault weapon. It has been 8 years since release and I am aware that it is not reported in California for employment purposes, however now that I reside in Washington state laws say a felony can be reported up to 10 years... When a background check is run, will it show my felony or because the felony was committed in California does that mean their state laws apply at 7 years?

As much as California would like to think otherwise, their laws do not apply once you cross the state line. Washington can look as far back as their laws allow. If that means they see your felony conviction, so be it. CA cannot prevent them from looking beyond CA's limits.
