yes i live in texas and my ex lives in california. he is wanting to give up his parental rights..does he have to come all the way to texas to do that or can he just be served papers of some sort and do it that way???

It is honestly not that simple, even in TX. A judge would most likely insist that he come to TX for an evidentiary hearing. A judge is going to want to make sure that it really is in the best interest of the child and that the child will never be likely to be dependent on the taxpayers for support.

He is still going to have to either show up at the hearing or be represented by an attorney at the hearing.
