I'll try to be concise.
Former husband took child to urgent care on 11/1. He recieved one invoice for $145.00 before insurance adjustment of 95.00. Expected insurance adjustment was clearly stated on invoice, co pay for this service through my insurance is 50.00. Former husband paid invoice in amount of 50.00. An adjusted invoice was sent to former spouse with insurance adjustment and a balance due of 50.00....but not payments posted. Just an adjustment from insurance payment. Former spouse sent in payment of 50.00.
During this time, I took children in for eye exams and glasses. Total invoice was $208.00. Former spouse made reimbursement to me for his portion of the eye exam bill minus what I owe him for urgent care. It is my opinion that he is not to deduct what I owe, but rather to pay me off my invoices and that I pay him off his invoices. Secondly, he deducted 50.00 as my portion and not 25.00. He says that it is my responsibility to cover half. I say, it is my responsibility to cover half of uncovered expenses. (our uncoverd expenses are shared 50/50). I believe his overpayment / inability to read an invoice/inability to make a call to address an overcharge is not my issue. What do you think?
