Does an auto dealer have to pay overtime if you work 53 hours per week. I have a management title, but do not have the right to fire, hire, or make decisions about how employees are delt with. Opinions only are taken from me and never acted on.

My response:

I don't know because you haven't told us what you do for the dealership. Do you sell cars, do you run the finance department, sweep floors? What?

An employer can have both exempt and non-exempt employees - - so, are you salaried, or do you punch a time clock?

You said, "I have a management title, but do not have the right to fire, hire, or make decisions about how employees are delt with." So, then you're not really a "manager" are you, because you're not "managing" anything.

You also said, "Opinions only are taken from me and never acted on." So, your employer is telling you that you're worthless, and should be shot on sight. You're an "anvil" on the dealership's bottom line. I think you should quit.

It is not necessary to manage EMPLOYEES in order to be a manager. Without additional information about your job duties it would be impossible to say.
