What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I live in florida and this issue is just a mess. I had two children here in fl. one in 97 and one 99. my daughter was born in 99. I no longer had parental rights when she was around 2 yrs. old. my cousin had adopted her and her brother with her husband in fl. they moved out of state and then divorced. my cousins ex husband tony moved to mi. with the two kids. now my girl is 13 and he no longer wants her.he called dcf because he wanted her out of his house. after that he called me to see if I would take her. I have been waiting for this for a long time and never wanted to give up my children so I said of course! tony sent all the things we needed to get her in school and a notarized letter giving my boyfriend and I parental guardianship.we were able to get her original birth certificate from vital statistics, transfer her immunization records to fl. and enroll her into school scheduled for this Monday. everything was going smoothly.
My dad who lives in ohio was the one who was to put her on the plane so he has her now. she is getting on the plane tomorrow. there are no disputes in the family about my daughter coming here. now dcf is involved because of the prior call and they say she cant come here.she could live with my boyfriend but I cannot be living here.lol!!! I try to talk to dcf in all states involed and none of them really want to talk to me. they don't seem to have the time to place my girl where she should be and that is reunited with her mother. she will be here tomorrow and I don't want to get in trouble or her go to a foster group home.this is nuts, I don't know what to do

Did DCF remove the children from you originally? If so, why? Otherwise, please explain how your cousin and her then husband came to adopt your children.

Indeed!

And if this is all accurate I can understand the State does not want to place the child with the OP.

Given that a notarized bit of paper is worth nothing, I'm not entirely sure why the school allowed registration. Something doesn't smell right.

Sounds like exMom is trying to pull a fast one if she's flashing an 'original' birth certificate instead of an amended one.

I also would like to know why the State removed the child from you.

And you need to remember that you lost the"mother" name when you agreed to the adoption. You are not "mother" to this child.

I am not so concerned about the school part. Every school district is different in what they require...and much depends on whether or not they have any kind of overcrowding. A school with overcrowding problems is going to have much more stringent requirements than one that has plenty of slots available.

they removed children because child was sex abused by father who was picking child up next day.so had to call child protective services so he could not take child.such a long story that I had just wrote and lost.so frustrated. I don't know why they gave me certificate. I had a copy of the certificate use after they were adopted by my cousin.not the real copy and that is what they needed

yes I know that I do not have rights but if adoptive father doesn't want her and want her with me then where do we go from here.

If she was adopted, you are no longer her mother. Your cousin is. Where is SHE in this mess?

They wouldn't remove the child from your home just because the father sexually abused them, especially if the father didn't live with you. They would have removed the child from your care and terminated YOUR rights if you failed to protect the child or if you were involved in the abuse. They ESPECIALLY wouldn't punish you if you were the one who allegedly called CPS to report the abuse.

What's the REST of the story that you aren't telling us? Because what you've said is either a lie, or at the very least, not the whole story behind you losing your parental rights.

(At this point, I'm not sure that you should have anything to do with this child that is no longer yours, let alone be allowed to take her back into your care.)

Again IF this is accurate - and I seriously doubt it - then there's even MORE reason why OP won't get getting this child.

OP is lying and minimizing the reason her kids were taken away. The child she wants to take back in would be better off in foster care than with her.
