What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York I gave up the rights to my son when he was 2 because my life was messed up
Sounds like you did the right thing--realizing you couldn't give your child the kind of life he deserved, you gave him better opportunites.
Like Zigner said: At this point you do not have a child--at least not this one.
but now he is 12 and he wants to live with me and I do not like the things that are going on with his adopted parents.
Do his parents know you are in contact with him?
Ditto SP. Is is an open adoption? Are his parents ok with you being in contact with him?
Waht is going on in this child's family that you don't like?
Is there a way to get my parental rights back and my son too?
No. And he's not your some. He has a family and you aren't part of it.
At the time I surrendered my rights I was just in recovery for 4 months adn I was not on medication
So you were stone cold sober making this choice.
Medication for what?
and was pressured to give up my rights is there any hope that I can get my rights and my son back?
Anyone hold a gun to your head? Threaten your life? Do you realize that you signed paperwork that indicated you willingly, freely and without any type of coercion made the choice to give up this child?
