Are you married? If so, does your husband want to adopt the children? Will your X consent to this?

No, I am not married. But I would still like to be able to explore all of my options and not be limited. I have read somewhere in mn law that states if a non custodial parent has not had significant contact with the children ( either 6 mo or 2 years) it is considered child abandonment. It that is the case, I want to be able to leave without fear. Thanks. Dee
