CT Not sure if this is a family or real estate matter, so let me try here first. My 17 year old daughter moved out because the police said she could move out if she wanted to without our permission and the police said she can come and go as she pleases and there is nothing we can do about it. That we would actually have to stop her from entering house when ever she chooses by evicting her. Just doesn't sound right that this child can do what ever she wants and I have no say so over my own house.

The age of majority in most states is 18, some 19. I do not know where the police got that info that she is able to move out without permission?

I would not put too much stock in that. However, addressing the main point for you, once she is 18, then, NO, she can not come and go, until then, if she and the cops are sure they are right, try filing a delinquency/runaway charge on her and see it is goes anywhere, THEN, it will be on record you as a Parent are attempting to comply with the law.
