Parked (borrowed) truck totaled, can i get a rental?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA,

Ok so i borrowed my buddies truck for the week so i can move. Hes in afghanistan working. Truck was parked in front of my place and hit by a lady. She has insurance talked to her company they are taking full responsibility, great. #1 noone was hurt, awesome, #2 hoping they are fair with the truck, bent the back axel, smashed rear end, scraped the side, so being a 2002 silverado, probably totaled. Keeping in contact via Facebook with my friend in Afghanistan about it, and handling it for him on this end. Ok, on to my dilemma, I don't have a truck to move now. Any possibility the insurance co would pay for a rental?

Unlikely since the owner of the truck is in Afghanistan and has no use for his truck.

I agree...I cannot see any possibility that the insurance company would provide a rental for someone who borrowed a truck.

Not for YOU. Maybe for the owner of the truck, if he were actually needing to use it - but since he's in Afghanistan, I'm going to say he won't.
