What is the name of your state? PA - ticket occurred in DC

I've seen similar situations on this board, but would like some input on this:
Got a $100 ticket for parking after 4PM in Georgetown. Even though signage is unclear, parking machine (no meters there) gladly took my money during "No Parking" hours, blah blah.. I'm sure I would not prevail if I contested on those grounds.

However, my plate number on the ticket is incomplete- the cop/meter maid left off the first two letters of the plate number. Car make and color is correct. (I have handicapped plates, if that makes any difference, and that is not noted on the ticket- in fact, it says "Tow Requested".) My wife was able to pull the car away as the tow truck was backing up to it! So I am lucky in one respect, I guess.

As I understand it, the non resident violators compact is not used for parking violations, but do not want to just let this hang out there and hope it goes away.

But if I respond to the ticket claiming defective tag number, am I tipping my hand by providing my name/address? Can/will they do partial tag matches?

thanks

Q: Can/will they do partial tag matches?

A: Yes; whether they do or not is something I don't know. If you never go there again as long as you have the current tag number, you should be okay.
