What is the name of your state? Illinois

I quit my job about 3 months ago, in the last month I received 2 direct deposits. I thought the 1st one was vacation time or something since it was about $200.00 less than my salary pay. Now I've received another direct deposit for the same amount.

I've read the previous posts regarding this topic, and it looks like they can make me pay it back. Would you mind verifying that?

And some other questions:

Is there any time limit they have to request it back?

Do I have to repay in one lump sum, or are they obligated to work on a payment plan with me?

Thanks for your time. I really appreciate the advice you provide here.

Would you mind verifying that?

Consider it verified.

Is there any time limit they have to request it back?

Off the top of my head I don't know what, if any, time limit Illinois law may place on it, but I guarantee you, it is considerably longer than three months. Three years would be more likely.

Do I have to repay in one lump sum,

That's between you and them.

are they obligated to work on a payment plan with me?

No. They have no such obligation.

And of course, I agree 100% with cbj's response.
And add.... that they can request you repay the overpayments for two years.
