You should not repay a debt while your bankruptcy case is still open. You didn't specify whether you've already received your discharge or not. After the discharge, no problem. But if you pay one creditor while the case is still pending, you are in violation of the trust. The trustee has to make all decisions about which creditors, if any, can be paid how much from your assets and/or income. In filing, you have handed your financial matters over to him for the duration of the case.

If its a post-petition debt, then its not part of the BK anyway - not unless you add that creditor. You're not supposed to be incurring any new debt to start with, so what is this debt from ??

I filed on Oct 13th and the debt occurred Oct 29th. The debt is around $800. Will I be violating trust issues and will it effect my bankruptcy from being discharged if I pay this off? I will NOT be adding this debt to my bankruptcy (I couldn't anyways). Will I run into any problems if I pay this off? Thanks.
