What is the name of your state? Michigan
Today I received two letters from my Mortgage company. The first is titled "Prepayment Regulatory Amendment Notice for FHA Mortgages Insured on or After August 2, 1985." The letter opens that in "This is in reply to your August 12 request for payoff figures or offer to tender an amount to prepay in full your FHA insured mortgage which Countrywide is servicing.

The second mailing, delivered the same day is titled "Payoff Demand Statement."

I did not request any payoff numbers nor is it my intent to prepay my loan at this time. My loan was recently transferred to Countrywide from another servicer.

The most pressing question is Countrywide demaning full payoff of my loan via one or both of these letters? Last month I received a letter indicating a payment was late and that I had to make such payment by a certain date. I did make that full payment one day ahead of schedule.

Can anyone tell me what these two letters are all about - of course there is no one at the mortgage company on the weekend to put my mind at ease. Thank you to all who take the time to read and even more thanks to those who take the time to respond.

Fancy solicitation to get you to refinance maybe?

Call Countrywide to makee sure that nobody has ordered a payoff.

Have you applied to refinance lately?

a phone call goes a long way

I also would recommend calling your current servicing company. If C.Wide just transferred your loan, don't call them, call the current servicing company.
The paperwork you received is (as amm indicated) most likely an advertisment.

Good luck,
