What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AZ

Hi, i was working for my previous employer A till 30th Nov 2008. After that I transferred my H1B visa to new employer B. The new employer started the payroll from 1st Dec 2008.

The previous employer settled all my dues only in Jan 2009 and that was the last pay I received from him.

My question here is that there is an overlap of the payroll from 2 different employers in the month of Jan now. Will there be any issues in this regard?

But the problem is that the previous employer A has given me the last pay in Jan mentioning the pay period as 15th Dec to 31st Dec as their normal payroll process, and for the same pay period I have received the pay from new employer B also.

How I'll explain that the previous employer has settled my dues for month of Nov, and I have not earned income from two employers for the same period?

Thanks for your replies.
My last question is, that now even if i have not worked with my last employer in year 2009, I'll receive W2 from him for year 2009, as the Dec 2008 payment was made in Jan 2009.

Please let me know if this can cause any issue today or in GC processing tomorrow?

2 weeks of Overlap during H1B Transfer - Urgent Query

Dear Sir/Madam,
Please let me know your thoughts/response

Scenario
I am on H1B VISA for Company/Employer A.
I got another job through a Company/Employer B.
Employer B initiated H1B Visa Transfer on Premium basis and asked me to start working with the new client based on the Reciept Number.

I took leaves(and did not resign) from Company/Employer A and joined the new Client thru Company/Employer B, as I wanted to wait for VISA transfer approval/confirmation. I was getting paid by Company/Employer A while I was on leave.

I worked for the new client for 2 weeks but unfortunately my VISA transfer got rejected/declined so immediately I went back to my previous Company/Employer. i.e. Employer A and resumed my work after leaves.

My Query
Since I got paid from Company/Employer A during the 2 weeks of Leaves and I also worked for the new client thru Company/Employer B simultaneously(during the same 2 weeks), Is it Ok if I get paid from Company/Employer B as well for those 2 weeks?

Please help me to understand if there is anything legal issue if I get paid by both the Companies/Employers(A and B) for those 2 weeks, as my motive was not to do anything illegal.

Also let me know what should I do if Employer B does not pay me anything as I put in my efforts for those 2 weeks.

helpseeker123, tacking questions on to an old thread (this one is from 2009) is not the best way on this forum to get your questions answered. FreeAdvice prefers that you start your own thread with your questions.

And, when you create your own thread, please be sure to include the name of your state in your post.

Thanks.

One final note: Immigration Attorney Lana has not posted to this forum in quite a while. I am not exactly sure why. Once you create your new thread, however, someone else is sure to stop by to address your legal concerns.
