The company I work for has recently begun mailing our paystubs to our homes. These new paystubs have the following personal information on them: name; address; social security number; date of birth; company name; employment start date; personnel number; and salary/rate, as well as all the decutions. As you can see, it would be extremely easy for our identities to be stolen by anyone who gets their hands on this piece of mail.
Many employees have not received their paystubs due to the inconsistency of the USPS, and have complained that the information being sent through the USPS is much too detailed to place in the public mail system. They have basically been told "too bad."
If I make a request in writing to the company that they not send my paystub with all my personal information through the USPS, are they obligated to adhere to my wishes?
Thank you
