The reason I asked for information regarding my rights as a parent when it comes to children services is: Approximately 10 days ago i had a social worker come to my house a neighbor made a complaint that i was allowing my 14 year old daughter to have sex. This is absolutely false....the worker said it would more than likely be dropped. Well yesterday while i was out bargain hunting she came to my house again. In the apartment building i live in there has been problems between a few tenants who belong to the same family....children services went to the one apt and i had the aweful timing of being out doing laundry and i think they called on me. I had nothing to do with this other situation. I do not allow my child to have sex......i even am on the fence about birth control...i do not want to enable that type of thinking even. Now the rumor is my daughter is pregnant..she is not...and i am truly fearful about them forcing their way into our lives and destroying it. I certainly believe if my child gets into trouble, which she never has, I would be the first person they SHOULD look at. But what do you do when you have not done anything.....do i have any rights since my child has never gotten into trouble and would a doctors exam clear up this mess. Any help or links to documents that may provide me some info would be appreciated beyond belief.

children services update

First of all Gandma I hope you see this ty very much:) Ok yesterday the CPS worker was here and i was not home.....she told my daughter she was waiting by her desk. I did not get home till after office hours. Now today I received a letter in the mail that was dated Thursday the 23th which stated the case was closed. Do they still have the right to show up for no reason when the case was closed the day before.

It's possible she was trying to contact you to tell you that the case had been closed, just as the letter stated. Try not to worry about it, and contact her Monday.

Good luck.
