What is the name of your state? Florida

Could someone explain what a "Personal Service Contract" is? It's been mentioned to me by an attorney in the context of "estate planning". I am not quite sure of the pros or cons. What is a reasonable attorney fee for setting this up ?

I am just trying to understand this strategy in layman terms....thank you.

IMO, you are asking us to guess what this means, and I can guess that it means a few different things including that this is the attorney's contract of his/her services.

Thank you for your reply. I am fairly certain that the attorney didn't not use the term in reference to his fees. I think he was referencing the following item:

The Florida Department of Children and Families form ES2327 (Common Application Form and Eligibility Questionnaire) asks the following question in Section D (Assets and Insurance)

"3. Has anyone closed any bank accounts or other investments, added anyone to the title of an asset or entered into a personal service contract within the last 3 years?"

An application from DCF for Medicaid, Food Stamps, etc. is TOTALLY different from what you originally asked and has nothing to do with estate planning. DCF wants to know if the applicant received wages for doing personal services for others such as cleaning houses, home health aide, CNA, lawn maintenance, house repairs, etc.
