i live in oklahoma. i haved lived in this town for 25 years. we resided in the country for about 1 year and during this time we got 2 dogs, both are pointers. we recently moved back into town and now my neighbor is complaining that my dogs are barking and keeping him up. they may have barked at different times but not enought to keep any body up all night. an officer came and gave me a citation and i have to go to court in april due to this person. i don't feel this is right this gentleman can call and make the police give me a ticket for this. what rights do i have as a pet owner and is there a curfew time on disturbing the peace for pets.

My response:

I guess I must have missed a new law or two for 2001, but is there some connection between "barking dogs" and Family Law? Unless, of course, we're talking about Mrs. Liable's mother.

You might want to try posting this on the "Other Crimes" law board.

The correlation could be, in Divorce Court I have heard many MRS. call their husbands "you dog and your fleabag lawyer is a pit bull. That mere pittance you call child support and alimony won't buy a bag of dogbones."
