What is the name of your state? Georgia

My husband and I signed up for fast Access Dsl through BellSouth. When we signed up, the terms of service included a one year contract with them which we did not break. We still have them. In exchange for the one yer contract they would waive the 50 dollar activation fee and our modem would be free. We had problems with the first modem so they sent out a new one and supposedly credited our account 100 dollars for all the trouble since we could not do anything online and my husband does alot of work online. Well, we did not receive a bill for the first 2 months of DSL. My husband called them and they said we hadnt incurred any charges for the DSL.
Heres my situation. Today, I got a bill in the mail charging me for the activation fee(remember it was supposed to be waived), the modem(supposed to be free) and those two months of services that they had told my husband that he incurred no charges in. Also none of these charges have appeared on the bill until this month and this is the third bill.
Can they legally hold charges and post them on one bill two or three months down the road. I could have easily paid for the charges on the proper bills but not accumulated on one bill. As I said these charges have never appeared on the bill before now. What can I do?

Have you contacted the phone company? There are so many different contracts they make it could be an error. Contact them and see what they tell you.
