What is the name of your state? MN

I currently have court ordered visitation time with my daughter. My girlfriend and I live together and we have a child together, also. My daughter knows my girlfriend well. I was recently offered a new job, but I wouldn't get off work until 6pm. I am supposed to pick up my daughter at 5pm on my weekends with her. So my questions is: Can I send my girlfriend to pick up my daughter on my weekends and can the mother refuse to send her with my girlfriend? If we did it this way, we would both arrive at my house at the same time.

Thanks

What does your order say EXACTLY regarding pick ups? Some say that the PARENT must pick up the child, in which case, yes your ex could refuse to send the child. Others are different though.

Pickups were never really addressed, as it's never been an issue before because I was always able to do the pickup.

Here is everything I can find in my orders regarding pickups:

"This will consist of a pick up at the mother's home if she is not working, or at the home of the maternal grandparents at 10:00am. The return will be to the mother's house on Sunday at 6:00pm."

Why don't you just inform Mom that your work schedule has changed and you will pick up sometime after 6 , as your work ends at 6 ?

Thats probably what I'll do if it is a big deal. It would just be easier for me to send my gf to pick her up, so I was wondering if I could do that or not.

It sounds like your orders call for a 10am pickup, which makes them outdated.

You could certainly go back to court and get orders that are based on today's reality and could probably get orders that would allow for other, responsible adults to pick up the child on your behalf.

However, that doesn't deal with "today". Since your orders are apparently outdated you are depending to some extent on mom's goodwill. Have you discussed this with mom? I suspect that you are going to need her agreement or you are going to need to go back to court.
