Please advise on Abuse of a General Power of Attorney

What is the name of your state? ID

I had signed a general power of attorney to my father and we recently discovered that he tryied to abuse it. I was told that once I do a formal revocation of POA I need to post an ad in the local Newspaper informing people that I am not resposible for debts and contractual obligations he may have entered into using my name. Is this true? What type of verbiage wouyld I have to use in the adds?
