Hello:
This is my first time posting and I am new to this board. 2 weeks ago, my husband of 24 years suddenly and without warning told me he had filed for a divorce. The next night I was served divorce papers, that night I was placed in the hospital by my son. I am no on medical leave w/o pay. My phone was shut off today and my husband will not pay the bill. He owns his own business and is very well off. My son was able to borrow the money for a retainer for my own lawyer (my husband wanted me to go through his lawyer and just sign all the papers). For years, I have been verbally abused, suffered from panic attacks, etc. Now I am a "chronic pain patient" which means I have many physical problems and have started the process (upon advice from my doctors) of a "medical retirement." However, I am not making any money right now - not even to pay for the co-pays for my medication, which I desperately need.
Can someone help me on this situation?? Please! I live in Connecticut.
Thank you.
