What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Massachusettes

A sad story...Guy meets girl...girl gets pregnant......daaaaa should have used protection, AIDS is worse. Anyway, She says its his, She says the paternity test says its his, He being a nice guy is willing to pay her 180.00 per week. My question .....Should he do his own test.He never saw the results of hers .He has been paying for 3 years for a child that might be his. She threatens him saying a court will make him pay more.He has never been inside a court room nor has he spoken to a lawer. Gullible Guy or am I a bitch in trying to help him. Oh he makes around 800.00 per week and she claims that she is unemployeed.

Ok.. let me get this straight.. he's paying her money without a court order? First off I would like to do know if he's 'allowed' to see the child. If not that makes him even MORE gullible. To figure what the courts would make him pay search child support guidelines in your state but until there is a court order he's not obligated to pay for anything. The only fix he may have put himself into with the paternity issue is he's assumed the role of the father. Did he sign a birth certificate or anything? I have seen cases that it's been proven X wasn't the father but he's carried that role for such amount of time that he's still required to have the obligations but also gets the rights. The latter all depends on the judge. Regardless he needs ALL of this straightened out and once paternity is established and the child is his he will get ordered support but he also can file for visitation. Sounds to me as if mom is pulling his chain and found herself a sucker... that is until the next sucker comes along and your friend is left out in the cold..and away from a child that could or could not be his.

He is going to be in deeper ****e, in the state of Ma. if she is collecting any form of welfare, and not reporting him as daddy, and the money he gives her. And it turns out he IS daddy.

if he wants to continue flushing money down the toilet thats great, but the smart move is petitioning the court for a paternity test. THEN worrying about custody, visitation and the inevitable support that goes with it.

Gifts or Child Support

Also check out if that money you have been sending can be accounted for as CS and not as a gift. He maybe setting his self up for repaying her CS errears. You need to take this matter my the horns because it will get you if you don't. Time is not on your side when it comes to waiting about CS issues. Avoiding the matter makes it worse even if you have to pay a little more now instead of paying alot later. If you get hit with having to pay errears you have to remember that there is interest attached on to it also. Who knows until you do the calculation. You maybe over paying. Definately get something set up court ordered asap. You will be glad that you did.
