What is the name of your state? Florida

I work for a large retail chain. Back in April I was given a promotion, and a promised raise. As of yet I have not received that raise. I have spoken to everyone in the office, but to no avail. Now I'm told that I cannot receive the reto-active money that has built up since April. Is that legal?
