I posted a message yesterday to which I got a few responses... so I'll just break it down to the meat of it... I was unfairly evicted. What I want to know is, if I was evicted, they are now garnishing me for 3 times the rent ( we had no lease b/c my lease was up and I was moving out..rent paid), can I sue for my deposit, because I still haven't gotten it back, and it's been about 4 months. They didn't give credit for the deposit in the eviction... so what happens to it? Thank you all for your responses in advance.. please no smarty pants responses, I only want help!:)

Next time, spend more time in the landlord-tenant law section of your library!!!

The judge awarded 3X monthly rent as HOLDOVER RENT * look it up.
Yes, you can sue for your deposit; however, expect a counter suit. I think your ex-landlord is smart and knows the ropes....your would have been better served to put your belongings in storage and move out on time!!
