What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania...

Hello and thanks in advance. Long story short - got involved in long term affair with a woman that ended VERY badly!! Bi-polar notwithstanding - she threatened me MANY times with "her friend" in the local hick police department.. Anyway - among other things, coaching her, lying, etc. -
He was also - and I know and used to work with the parties involved, gossiping about how long he was going to put me away for, etc, etc. to another adjoining county hick police department friend of his. This got back to me through a coworker of mine who is the wife of the officer that my ex'es officer "friend" was gossiping to.

Is that not police misconduct to be spreading rumours, etc - whether it's a pending court case or an actual case. Please let me know. Thanks again.

at most you have justification to make a complaint with the officers command. Even that would most likely not be seen as an issue but you can file a complaint if you wish. Other than that, you don't have anything.

I agree. Gossip and rumors MIGHT give rise to a personnel complaint, but then only if some nexus to his capacity as a peace officer can be shown. On his own time he is free to opine as he wishes about others ... within limits.

But, you can call and ask to speak with his supervisor and see if that has any effect.
