Was your autistic son resisting them? Fighting? What?

he police can use reasonable force on even autistic and mentally ill folks if it is necessary. And unless he has a sign hanging around his neck declaring him to be autistic, how were the police to know this? (Of course, having some details would help in the analysis ...)
