What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I recently failed a polygraph, although I was honest and did not withhold information, and ultimately passed over for a job. I have taken one polygraph in the past and passed. I was extremely nervous and anxious during this failed exam, which was not common for me. My heart was pounding, my bp elevated and felt as if I had a lump in my throat. All of these are common symptoms of anxiety...which I have never suffered from...Here's the situation...I was recently diagnosed with a moderate form of Crohns Disease. As a result, I was put on medication and have been taking it for the last six months. From time time, I have noticed some anxiety, however nothing severe. When I went in for my polygraph exam, it came on very strong and I was unable to control it. I did not know this, however the medication that I am using (using max dose allowed), is known to cause anxiety in some folks as a side effect. I recently found this out after taking the polygraph and learning that I was passed on the job...this does not sit well with me. I feel that the medication caused my anxiety which caused me to fail the polygraph resulting in me not getting hired. Do I have any options at this point? I was told that I could reapply in one years time. This is not an option for me. Please help!

No idea what you are looking for. If you believe the medicine cause you to fail, speak with your doctor about changing meds. If you are not allowed to reapply for 1 year then that's what it is.

If it is what it is, then that sucks. I have spoken to my doc and my medication has since been changed. As for what I am looking for: Maybe a retest or a waiver of some sorts. There is no question that a polygraph can be botched due to anxiety...as they monitor the senses that anxiety has an effect on.

They're not under any obligation to let you retest, unless you have details you haven't yet shared with us

No other details to speak of... in a nutshell I feel I failed the polygraph due to "medication induce anxiety". Thanks and I appreciate the responses.
