I contacted a store regarding a website I want to make where I'll post sales prices for various retail stores. The person told me they don't usually allow that. Can I be sued for making a website where I list prices of various items at various retail stores? The pricing information could come directly from looking at the items on the shelves. Don't I have a right to display that publically? Wouldn't that be considered freedom of speech?

I saw some websites that are attempting to display various gasoline companies' prices by having users enter their local prices. These websites were advertised on CNN news so they can't possibly be illegal. The two sites I saw are gassbuddy.com and gaspricewatch.com. This is similar to what I want to do except I want to do this for any retail store. Is it only ok to do this if I don't enter the prices myself?

Please help me. I think my idea would be of great value to consumers.
