What is the name of your state?New Jersey, My daughter is 24 years old and autistic. I was asked by doctors and nurses if I have a Power of Attorney for her. Why does she need one and if she does, what kind does she need even though she can't write.

Your daughter is no longer a minor. In order for you to make decisions for her or have access to information about her, you require the proper legal authorization to do so. Based on the little you wrote regarding your daughter, you will need to file/apply to be her legal guardian and health care surrogate/proxy.
