Hello! I filed for back child care for my daughter from her father in 11/04. Our case was brought before a magistrate and we had several court dates with him. Finally the magistrate turned out case over to a Judge because my daughters father kept trying to find a loop hole out of paying me what he owes.His own lawyer has advised him to settle out of court but he refuses to. I just got a notice in the mail giving us our court date and time and it says A preliminary hearing has been set before this court. My question is : What is a Preliminary hearing? What is to be expected from this court date?
