What is the name of your state? Indiana

I have a good friend who is currently incarcerated here in Indiana.

Her Mother (Adoptive parent) passed away last Sunday.
My friend is worried that she may not recieve some of the things that her Mother wanted her to have according to the will. Most of the family has disowned her due to her self-destructive past. Her Mother was still fond of her and supportive of her. She fears that her Uncle (who has POA) will keep from her what is rightfully hers to inherit.

Can anyone offer any advice as to how she may protect her interests?

A: Hire a lawyer. Also, write to the probate court of the county where the person died and ask if a probate estate has been opened and, if so, for a copy of the file. You will have to pay for it. The POA died with the person who gave it.
