What exactly does "Pro Per" mean concerning a divorce? I believe it means filing the paperwork yourself. If your divorce is Pro Per, is there a lawyer involved at any point? How much can it cost (roughly, please give a dollar amount) to file Pro Per?
My response:
In any form of litigation, whether in an action for Dissolution (Divorce) or Personal Injury, or any other type of legal action, when a litigant represents him / her self, that person is said to be "In Propria Persona" (Pro Per or Pro Se). Which means, "on one's own behalf".
To begin the litigation process, it costs $194.00 in California (although, your mileage may vary, depending upon the State). If you don't have that kind of money, check with the court clerk at the filing window to see if there is paperwork you can file to have court costs waived.
Good luck to you.
