My Mobile Home closed on November 24, 2000. At the time of closing we where shown copies of the checks to prove the money was there but since it was the day after Thanksgiving we where told that our money would be available for us on the following Monday(this was told to us by our agent.) In the Contract we had stated that we would be out of the Home 10 days after closing but due to things progressing we where out of the home on the day of closing and the buyer moved in later that same day. We however moved out of the area and gave our new address to the realator and asked them to mail it to us, and they agreed that we would have it by the following friday at the latest. When Friday arrived and no check arrived I contacted them and they stated that they hadn't even sent the check yet. That was December 1st. My beef is the Realty has not dispursed my check and because of this it has caused me to be late on several bill that the closing money would have gone towards.
What is my legal right. Can i send them a bill or charge them interest for holding onto my money and not dispursing it right away. Please keep in mind that this was a Sale of a Manufactured Home so it didn't go through Escrow and occured in the state of Oregon. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this.

You still should have gone through escrow. What kind of a real estate company would close on their own and not use an escrow company or an attorney? This Real estate firm violated several basic rules ie. not using an independent third party to close the transaction, commingling of funds, breach of contract, fiduciary duties and standard of care, deceptive trade practices etc. File complaints against the agents with BBB, local Board of Realtors and the State of Oregon Real Estate Commission.
