Im a employee in the state of GA who has been having problems getting paid since a garnishment was placed on me 2 months ago. Upon my return from an out of state job training event for the company I have worked for for the last 2 1/2 years is having a problem with how much money I have been making.
I received a pay advance towards my commission as I would not be in town for the next week to receive monthly commision. Upon my return I was given notice of a garnishment in the form of my paychecks being made for $0.00.
The garnishment had taken its portion and the company took the rest towards the advancement of my commission. This took 1 week to get resolved through my HR department. No money for 2 weeks total.
Next "stunt" was getting told I was making too much money. I work hourly/commission/bonus so when I fill in for other positions which I'm crossed-trained in which generates more commission I have really Great months.Recently alot of people have been out sick/kids/fired so my commission has been looking really great. I was told I was making too much money and my bonus would be drop and there were plans to hire a new commission person to reduce the amount of commission I would be making.
I applied for the position for the full time commission job and was given it because of my past abilities to do the job well I was promoted.
I took this position to maintain my income level.
Well now onto the next battle. I took the position on July,1. When I recived my bonus and commission check for the previos month I was given copies of what is was supose to be checks, and 1 check for almost 2k less that was a real check. I was told they retroed my pay for the previos month and the hourly pay was deducted from it. I worked both jobs as I have for the past year but this past month was alot of commission.
I would like to think all of the recent events are just an oversight of the company and would like to point a few things out but am scratching my head to find the laws that would apply.
