What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

We purchased a used boat from a dealership. Their mechanics had supposedly serviced it and was told it was in perfect running condition. Hubby looked over the engine, etc to see if there were any glaring problems and also had dealership start it up. Started fine. Now that the boat has been put in the water, there are problems. Took to a mechanic and they have estimated repairs of over $3,000. Boat was purchased for $8,000. Is there anything that can be done? Feel like we were ripped off.

Thanks for the advice.

Generally, sales of used vehicles are not covered by the lemon laws.

If you think these people did something wrong, take them to small claims court.

Proving your case is exceptionally difficult.

The two happiest days in a boat owner's life are the day they buy and the day they sell.

This will be the first of many repairs and costs you'll have. Enjoy the boat! We had them growing up and there was no end the repairs and maintenance they needed. They're fun, but an expensive amusement.

I am curious as to WHAT the $3,000 worth of undiscovered problems are...
