What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

The company I work for has certain holidays listed as paid as long as you fit the hourly requirements. Well I'm a manager and a week after the holiday everyone in the company (at least just all the normal managers) were emailed saying the company didn't make enough to pay us. Now Easter is coming up and we are worried that once again they will not pay us even though it is listed. By law are they required to pay us since it is listed in the job requirements/discription/website?

For non-exempt employees; no, not unless there is a legally binding and enforceable contract that specifically says they will. Non-exempt employees never have a legal expectation of being paid when they don't work.

For exempt employees; yes, unless they do not do any work at all for the entire week.

Whether it was mandatory or not has nothing to do with your exempt status. I don't know where so many people get the idea that exempt employees can work any hours they want and don't have to work specific hours.

Let's start with whether you are paid hourly or on salary. That is NOT definitive but it gives us a starting point.

That's not really "holiday pay" then. When most people think Holiday pay they mean paid time off on a holiday, hence the confusion.

If you worked you need to get paid, no question there. If they refuse to pay you then you can file a complaint with the Indiana Dept of Labor

I did not understand that you worked on the holiday. That's a different issue. I thought you were talking about being paid for a holiday when you were off work for the holiday.

If you did not get paid AT ALL, that's illegal.

If you got paid, but did not get extra pay for working on a holiday, that's legal unless a legally binding and enforceable contract expressly and in so many words says you do.

If you did NOT work, then it is legal not to pay you, with the same qualifier.
